The Australian Deputy Ambassador to Rome, Siddhartha Chakrabarti, recently visited the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste Laboratory, accompanied by Marco Lazzarino, Senior Scientist at CNR-IOM and Scientific Attache of the Italian Embassy in Canberra.

After being welcomed by Marco Peloi, Head of the Industrial Liaison Office, and Marco Marazzi, Deputy General Manager of Elettra, the guests met Prof. Alfonso Franciosi, President and CEO, for an introductory presentation on the laboratory's main scientific and technological activities.

Afterward, they had the opportunity to visit some of the most representative beamlines, accompanied by Giuliana Tromba, Head of the SYRMEP beamline specialized in X-ray tomography, and Kevin Prince, Australian experimental physicist at FERMI, recently appointed Elettra Fellow for the scientific contribution made over the years.

The visit provided an opportunity to explore the excellence of the research center and to strengthen international relations in the field of science and technology.
