On May 30, we had the honor of welcoming Professor Anne L’Huillier, Nobel Prize in Physics 2023, to Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste. Her research fields — including the interaction between ultrashort laser pulses and matter, high-order harmonic generation (HHG), and attosecond physics — are perfectly aligned with the ongoing scientific activities at the FERMI light source.

The visit was an important opportunity to strengthen the interaction between her group and our center. Several of her collaborators have already conducted experiments at FERMI, and a structured collaboration is currently underway within the framework of a European Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network project.

An additional confirmation of FERMI’s role as a leading infrastructure for cutting-edge scientific research at the international level.
