On July 15th we had the pleasure of hosting a visit to Elettra and FERMI by Manuel Perez Cardenas, Representative of the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial of Mexico (CCE) and Bernd Rohde, CEO of the Italo-German Exhibition Company, who were accompanied by the Honorary Consul of Mexico at Trieste, Graziano Bertogli. The CCE, the highest representative body of the private sector in Mexico, brings together 14 main business organizations, which represent approximately 80% of Mexico's GDP. The Italo-German Exhibition Company is a joint venture between Italian Exhibition Group SpA and Deutsche Messe AG, specialized in the organization of international trade fairs in various sectors, including capital goods, human resources and consumer goods.

The visit to Elettra is part of a series of contacts which, with the new presidency of Mexico of Claudia Sheinbaum, engineer, physicist and researcher, is dedicated to an exchange of information useful for understanding the economic impact in the industrial field that construction can have of a synchrotron, both during the construction phases and in the subsequent phases, in which companies can also make use of this large research infrastructure for innovation and technology transfer. It was a moment of fruitful discussion and exchange of ideas, which highlighted the great opportunities for international collaboration and industrial development linked to these scientific infrastructures, opening up new possibilities for collaboration in future projects.

In this context, there is the opportunity for Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste to take part in the work of the First Global Business Summit Mexico, "CONSTRUYENDO EL MÉXICO DEL FUTURO: Hacia una Prosperidad Tecnológica e Inclusiva", in the framework of the 2024 edition of the Industrial Transformation Mexico Forum organized by Italian Exhibition Group, Deutsche Messe and Hannover Messe, to be held from 9 to 11 October 2024 in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.
