A delegation from Wärtsilä visited Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste on June 5 to deepen ongoing research collaborations and explore new opportunities for innovation. The visit, organized in partnership with the University of Trieste (UNITS), marked another step forward in the long-standing relationship between Wärtsilä and the regional research ecosystem.

The collaboration focuses on the development of advanced engine technologies and sustainable energy solutions, with promising prospects linked to the upcoming Elettra 2.0 upgrade and various ongoing projects at UNITS.

During the meeting, participants emphasized the strategic value of the Scientific and Innovation System of Friuli Venezia Giulia (SIS FVG), highlighting its role in fostering synergy between institutions and industry. The North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley (NAHV) project was also presented as a flagship initiative for promoting clean energy, particularly in the maritime sector, where reducing reliance on fossil fuels is a key objective.

The visit confirmed the strength of the collaboration between academia, research centers, and the industrial sector in driving innovation and responding to global challenges.
