On Wednesday 1 March 2023 the new Prefect of Trieste and Government Commissioner for the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Pietro Signoriello, accompanied by the Vice Prefect, Beatrice Musolino visited Elettra.

Welcomed by the President and CEO Alfonso Franciosi, after an introductory presentation of the history and excellence of the Centre, the visit continued with Marco Marazzi, Deputy Coordinator General, through the experimental halls of Elettra and FERMI, where some aspects of the research carried out at Elettra were discussed in depth with the collaboration of Andrea Locatelli, Head of the Nanospectroscopy beamline, and Claudio Masciovecchio, Head of FERMI's time-resolved experimental techniques.
 


Upon illustration of the potential of synchrotron light-based techniques as a source of ideas and solutions to today's challenges, at the end of the visit the guests expressed great appreciation and keen interest in the possible uses of the analysis techniques in a wide variety of fields, particularly in relation to the Elettra 2.0 project.
