Metal Nanoparticles on Plasma Treated Carbon Nanotubes

Abstract
After shortly introducing the preparation route of metal nanoparticles on plasma treated carbon nanotubes, the particle-nanotube interaction will be discussed based on XPS, STXM and HRTEM analysis. In the first part, emphasis will be put on electronic properties of Au nanoparticles as well as on the Au-CNT interface formation. The second part will deal with metal particles (Ni or Ti) that form chemical bonds with C. Finally, first applications on gas sensing will be presented
