Laser assisted decontamination: dominant role of surface absorption

Abstract
A brief overview of the laser assisted surface cleaning with particular emphasis on nuclear application will be presented in the first part of the seminar. The mechanism of transport of energy from the coherent radiation to the surface and the physics underneath the cleaning process would also be a focus of this part. The work carried out in our laboratory, in particular with regard to removal of somewhat loosely bound particulates, and the new result obtained by us here will be presented in the second part of the seminar.
