Small angle neutron scattering studies of complex fluids

Dr László Almásy
Centre for Energy Research, Budapest, Hungary

Abstract
After general considerations on possibilities of small angle scattering applied to study of disordered materials, three topics of complex fluid systems, mainly aqueous solutions, will be discussed. First, mixtures of small-size molecules with water, i.e. binary mixtures, in which various types of structures emerge. Second, a few results on classical solutions of polymers and surfactants, and third, colloidal solutions of iron oxide nanoparticles, their stabilization and applications in medicine.
