4UHV Ion Pump Controller

Briefly for the BACH beamline Agilent 300 StarCell Ion pumps:

To see the status of all channels press V/I/P.
Do not select Mode (going from LOCAL to remote it migth turn all channels off)

In LOCAL MODE:

TURNING ON/OFF HV:

2) Press at the same time HV1 and HV on/off

All the pumps are configured for STEP mode and will gradually go to -3000 V except for PEM2A ion pump which is set in FIXED mode.
Once the pressure is good, change V to -5000V and then -3000V by pressing at the same time HV1 or HV2 or HV3 or HV4 and Fixed/Sep button then press HV3 (-)several times (it will change cyclically from STEP to -7000 to -5000 to -3000)

Protect (from Ion pump manual)
The protect function is useful to avoid damages in the ion pump due to the overcurrent.
If this function is enabled, the controller waits 120 seconds from the HV ON, then it begins to check the current provided.
If the current exceeds the threshold in the following table, the HV channel turns off and the controller gives the “Protect Error”.
This kind of error is not a controller error but it is only a warning, informing that the HV channel is turned off because the protect current threshold was exceeded.
Protect Current for 300 StarCell: 100mA
