Recent progress in studies of epitaxial fluorides at Ioffe institute

ABSTRACT
After a brief introduction to the epitaxy of fluorides on semiconductors
and insulators, some recent results in the following areas wiil be presented:
i.) Calcium fluoride nanostructures on Si(001)
ii.) Growth, structural and optical properties of CdF2-CaF2 superlattices
iii.) Structural transformations in MBE-grown MnF2 layers on Si(111)
and
GaP(001)
Moreover some potentialities of fluoride heterostructures for applications
for application wiil be presented and discussed.
