The LDM beamline. Atomic, Molecular, and Cluster Science at FERMI@elettra

Abstract
The Low Density Matter beamline (LDM), under construction in the framework of the FERMI@elettra project will be presented. A modular endstation is being built in a joint effort of several European research institutions, to perform novel experiments in atomic, molecular, and cluster science exploiting the unique properties of the light pulses produced by FERMI@elettra. The results of preparatory experiments, the current status of activity, and ideas for future experiments will be presented, with some emphasis on clusters and helium nanodroplets.
