Best phase for XMCD measurements

The undulator phase is chosen by maximising the product of photon flux and square of degree of circular polarization. As shown below, below 310 eV the first harmonic must be used. Already above 320 eV the fifth harmonic becomes more favorable. The look-up table available here was kindly provided by Bruno Diviacco.
